The interaction between grain milling and pasta production technology enables Buhler to offer customers perfectly matched product solutions, from processing of the grain, dough preparation, and drying up to the finished pasta of superior quality. Its C-Line® pasta production line satisfies the most rigorous sanitation standards as well as offering maximum flexibility in the selection of the raw materials. This allows fast recipe changes and value to be generated from intermediate and byproducts.

Responsible and careful handling of the available resources is always the top priority. The Buhler equipment portfolio includes production lines for classical long and short goods, goods, specialty products such as nidi or lasagne, and solutions for couscous or instant pasta.

Cereals.
Direct-expanded products and crunchy flakes – extruded or cooked in the traditional manner, spraycoated or in their natural form.

Snack foods.
Direct- and indirect-expanded snack foods – from flour to spray-coated, spiced finished products.

Breadcrumbs.
Breadcrumbs, panadas, and stuffings with a wide variety of textures, pores, colors, and particle sizes.

Modified flours & starches.
Modification of flours and starches for use, say, as binders in soups and sauces, for extending the shelf life of bread loaves, and much more.

Grain milling byproducts.
The extruder adds value to byproducts from the grain milling process, for instance by upgrading low-grade flours and bran into valuable food ingredients by thermal and mechanical processes.

Texturized proteins.
The extruder allows vegetable proteins to be texturized for use, say, as meat substitutes, satisfying the needs of present-day nutritional trends.

Long goods such as spaghetti.

The Buhler C-line® long-goods line offers maximum flexibility in processing raw materials such as durum and soft wheat. The innovative Polymatik® pasta press technology ensures high uptimes and efficiency, thanks to short production starting and stopping times as well as fast cleaning and product changes.

Short goods such as penne.

The Buhler C-line® short-goods line allows high-quality short products to be made from wheat, rice, and corn/maize. The Polymatik® pasta press technology stands for unrivaled dough homogeneity and brilliant colors. 

Couscous.

Buhler lines produce excellent dry couscous in the gros, moyen, fin, and mesfouf formats. In order to ensure top product hygiene the steaming belt is cleaned even during ongoing production.

Nidi & Lasagne.

Lasagne, nidi, and specialty short-goods shapes are made by Buhler specialty lines in a consistently high product quality.

Instant-pasta.

The state-of-the-art technology applied in Buhler lines ensures production of instant dry pasta in a cost-optimized process.

Corn/maize pasta & rice pasta.

Buhler pasta lines are capable not only of making classical long and short goods not only from rice and corn/maize, but – thanks to a patented process – also pasta in the form of rice grains as well as new rice products.
