Development and optimisation of wet grinding and dispersion processes.

Customers, looking for the optimal process for their production, profit from Buhler’s longstanding process engineering know-how and technology centres. Experienced planning and research teams develop and test processes with the latest wet grinding, dispersion and extrusion technology. The aim is to achieve a production process with the highest possible energy efficiency at lowest overall cost. Collaborating with the customer, Buhler analyses operating conditions and specifies the production parameters. Pilot plants and laboratories in Switzerland, Germany, the USA, China and Japan offer customers the most modern process and analysis technology in keeping with internationally recognised standards. Laboratory trials determine viscosity, particle size distribution, contamination and other relevant values.

The processes are then tested in pilot plants to simulate actual production. Performance trials are carried out with raw materials supplied by the customer in order to determine the most realistic operating parameters for production. The result is an optimal process which can safely and reliably be scaled up for production.
