Buhler Die Casting Systems combine state-of-the-art die casting machine technology with the best solutions in automation. This spectrum ranges from the simplest die casting machine to integrated, fully-automated casting cells.

The proven SC casting technology of the Carat and Evolution series of machines and real-time controlled casting units provide extraordinary flexibility for processes and procedures. Buhler offers the following solutions in the area of cold-chamber die casting machines:

Carat - The two-platen die casting machine with locking forces from 10,500 to 44,000 kN. The combination with special casting units tailored to each application makes Carat the best solution for all customers who produce large and complex parts and who have the most stringent requirements for quality.

Evolution - The Evolution with its well-known 3-platen locking unit with locking forces between 2,600 and 9,000 kN provides the ideal solution for producing castings of medium to high degrees of complexity.

Evolution B - This series expands the spectrum of the machines with a 3-platen closing unit with locking forces ranging from 10,500 to 42,000 kN.

Ecoline - Ecoline is a cold-chamber die casting machine with locking forces of 3,400 to 8,400 kN. It represents modern and reliable die casting technology with 3-phase technology and a basic set of functions.

High productivity also requires that automation solutions be well-aligned. A series of Buhl devices was specifically developed for operation in Buhler casting cells. These devices are partially or fully integrated in the process control systems. This facilitates operation of the casting cell.

BuhlLadle ladling units provide a high degree of accuracy in ladling metal. The BuhlSpray devices are used for spraying the dies. There are linear two-axis devices with up to 8 spraying and blowing circuits for complex castings as well as basic radial sprayers for classic die casting applications. The parts are extracted by the BuhlRob extraction robot. It is based on proven ABB Foundry Plus technology that provides a high degree of flexibility in production. Buhler also offers the BuhlEx, the ideal “Pick and Place” device for long production runs. BuhlMark devices for parts labeling ensure unequivocal and absolute traceability for castings and their production data.

The Buhler die casting cells can also be combined with peripheral devices made by other manufacturers.
