Buhler's process line for direct expanded cereals produces traditional products as well as customer-specific cereal forms in top quality. As an efficient solution for cereal production enterprises, we offer high-performance extrusion methods. The letters HTST (High Temperature Short Time) stand for a gentle process that is both ecological and economical, thanks to minimal water consumption.In order to give direct expanded cereals the desired form and texture, die hole geometry, extrusion speed, cutting mode and process conditions inside the extruder all play a decisive role: through precise adjustment of water content and the temperature and time profile, product quality can be exactly defined and kept at a consistent level.
In terms of appearance and taste, cereals become more appealing via spray-coating and the addition of coloring, flavoring or vitamins or minerals. A special process patented by Buhler even allows for simultaneous production in different colors – making cereal enjoyment all the more colorful.
