Nova™ bead mill.

The Buhler NovaTM bead mill enables top-class grinding of high- to low-viscosity cocoa, fat, and nut masses in a single pass. The proven pin-counterpin principle with annular gap and pressure unit ensures outstanding grinding results with a narrow particle size distribution. Depending on the required fineness, the maximum processing capacity is as high as 2000 kg/h per machine. Higher processing capacities are easily possible by combining several machines. Reliable technology makes for consistent product fineness.
  • The narrow energy density distribution and the constant energy input ensure permanently uniform end product characteristics.
  • The process zone of the NovaTM bead mill is equipped with a smart pressure unit which compacts the grinding media and the material at a constant pressure and thus compensates for wear. This ensures the production of masses of consistent fineness in the course of a given production period.
  • Efficient rotor and stator cooling minimizes the temperature rise in the grinding chamber. This produces a uniform end product quality.

Pressure unit for optimized particle size distribution.
The pressure unit further optimizes the already narrow particle size distribution of the end product, which is ensured by the optimal sizing of the process zone.

Efficient grinding thanks to single-pass operation.
The pin-counterpin principle in combination with the annular gap and the grinding chamber geometry enables the material to be processed in a single pass. This speeds up the grinding process and minimizes the space requirement.

Production reliability and convenience through smart control system.
The material throughput, product temperature, and energy input are permanently monitored, controlled, and visualized. This ensures a very high level of production reliability and convenient operation of the Nova™ bead mill.
