“Joining Bühler was the turning point in my career.”

+

I started my career in Bühler as an apprentice in 2009, and I am now a full-time assistant in production.

After my apprenticeship, I was given the opportunity to work in the Manufacturing department. I learned high-end skills such as interpreting drawings, standards, work sequences, functions and gained real hands-on experience. I also successfully earned a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, all with the support of the company.

I was given a full-time position in 2017. This was very exciting and motivating. Since then, I have learned new systems in manufacturing, which have helped me develop my skills and keep our customers satisfied. I have also been able to guide and motivate new apprentices and junior technicians to do their work effectively.

What do you do in your job?

I work in the Machine Control department. I follow the machining process from start to end to ensure the quality of the parts. This includes maintaining the equipment by completing preventative maintenance, following the manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs etc. I also ensure that we adhere to safety procedures and regulations. My key theoretical knowledge is in technical drawing, material technology and electrical and electronics engineering.

What is it like working at Bühler?

What strikes me is the encouragement and support the management gives people like me so that I can perform my day-to-day tasks with courage and confidence. I feel that values and innovation are strong points at Bühler.

I sense that empowering women is one of the priorities for Bühler.
