A collective effort for a greater good
In a heartfelt display of community and compassion, Bühler Nigeria’s dedicated employees took a stand to support the 13th Annual Christmas Charity of the Kinabuti and Friends Initiative. The volunteers got to experience the difference they make in the community firsthand and are already looking forward to next year.

The event, held from December 12-14, 2024, saw almost 25 million Naira (approximately CHF 16,000) raised in cash and in-kind donations. Among the notable contributions was Bühler’s donation of 1,500 units each of pasta, juice boxes, and custard. These contributions played a crucial role in supporting children across three schools in the Orile-Iganmu and Tarkwa Bay areas of Lagos State, as well as the Vigilant Heart Orphanage.
The Bühler Nigeria team was not just involved in financial aid but also actively participated in the distribution of the packages. These well-thought-out gift bags consisted of essential items such as rice, garri, oil, toiletries, toys, and lunch boxes. Volunteers meticulously packed these items, ensuring that 1,500 children received their deserved share of joy and comfort.
The initiative was more than just about providing material support. Bühler employees invested their time and energy in engaging with the children, resulting in three days filled with love, laughter, and communal harmony. The children captivated everyone with their stunning cultural performances, while the volunteers joined in for various games and dance-offs. The atmosphere was electric, marked by fun and emotional connections.
Thomas Ogundiran, Country Manager of Bühler Nigeria said: “This was such an inspiring time that reminded everyone what Bühler is all about: making a positive impact in our regions and helping to ensure that the people have access to safe and nutritious food. I can’t wait for our next charity drive and to see the smiling faces of the children again. Bühler is in Nigeria, for Nigeria."
Reflecting on the event, it was evident that the true essence of the “Feed the children” program went beyond the material donations. It was about sharing love and making memorable connections that left lasting impressions on both the volunteers and the children.
