Jerusalema dance challenge
“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning how to dance in the rain.” Our colleagues around the world turned this metaphor into reality when they joined the Jerusalema Dance Challenge, showing spirit in the face of adversity.
Lukas Hofstetter, March 25, 2021
In the midst of the pandemic, Bühler Johannesburg in Southern Africa started a wave that would brighten up the day of hundreds of thousands of users on social media and encourage Bühler Uzwil in Switzerland, Bühler Blumenau in Brazil, and Bühler Alzenau in Germany to get together and dance to the soundtrack of the #JerusalemaChallenge. Of course, while they danced, they always adhered to the safety measures of their respective countries at the time of filming.
Jerusalema – a song from South Africa, became a symbol of hope amidst the fear and worry of the COVID-19 pandemic. As lockdowns started in South Africa and other African countries in February 2020, a group of friends from Angola made a video of themselves dancing to this uplifting song. That video became a global hit, sparking the #JerusalemaChallenge. On YouTube for example, it has more than 320 million views and 112,000 comments.
Now, turn up the volume, listen to this uplifting song, and watch your talented colleagues tap their feet and spread good vibes with the power of dance! Feel free to join in on the fun, no matter where you are. Did you get inspired and created your own Jerusalema Dance Challenge video? Send it to us at mosaic@buhlergroup.com.
