Securing the future

Located at the strategically vital Sohar Port near the Strait of Hormuz, Sohar Flour Mills prides itself on producing premium-quality, 100% natural products. High standards

The company’s wide product range includes traditional baker’s flour alongside pizza flour, biscuit flour, and chakki atta flour, which is made from whole wheat grains using  traditional stone grinding techniques. The facility is committed  to maintaining the “highest standards of quality, safety, and  sustainability in its operations, ensuring that it meets the  diverse needs of its customers – both local and international”,  says Ibrahim Al Amri, Chief Operations Officer for Oman Flour  Mills, the company’s major shareholder.

It’s a very well-connected system, all the way from the unloading into the silos to the mill itself. We’re so proud that there’s no human interference into the grains or flour the whole thing is fully automated, which gives more confidence in terms of the hygiene, safety, and security of the product.

Shared vision

The successful integration of Bühler’s tailored solutions has boosted Sohar’s capacity and efficiency, says Ibrahim, while the  shared values of the two organizations has helped to ensure that Sohar can achieve its operational goals and maintain a  competitive edge in the sector – even throughout the market volatility brought about by events in the Middle East. “With Bühler, we found a partner that not only met our immediate needs but also provided the flexibility and support necessary for long-term  success,” he states.
