Advanced roasting process

Extremely gentle treatment of raw materials is key when developing the highest quality product. The vertical product duct system used in the RoaStar allows your materials to move under the influence of their own weight alone. This prevents fat leaking from kernels to shells and guards avoiding damage to the surface of nuts during the roasting process.

Environmentally friendly

Innovation for ultimate energy efficiency

Much of the exhaust energy that would otherwise be lost in the roasting process is recovered by heat exchangers for reuse. Steam heating both ensures that exhaust air is free from sulphur and nitrogen oxides and allows the RoaStar to use biomass combustion. Fueling the system using byproducts such as cocoa shells rather than fossil fuel gives you a supremely efficient CO2-neutral operation.

The advanced automatic control system monitors every part of the roasting process to ensure it operates without a hitch. Intuitive displays present vital information in a clear and user-friendly way, allowing your operators to respond with adjustments quickly and easily. With the integrated fire detection system constantly checking each parameter, safety is a priority.

With increasing demand for the specific flavor characteristics of cocoa beans from diverse origins, a precisely controlled roasting process is essential. Separate zones allow you to set different roasting degrees for each product. Timing can be set from 13 to 20 minutes per zone; combining these with various temperature profiles offers you almost infinite possibilities for flavor development.
