Deep purpose: the heart and soul of high-performance companies |
In this session we will explore exemplar firms (large and small) to uncover some of the ways in which they have turned the pursuit of purpose into a source of competitive advantage. In doing so we will also uncover some of the barriers that prevent them from pursuing purpose energetically and effectively. Going beyond traditional prescriptions for working with purpose, we will examine some of the key misconceptions most leaders have about the nature, scope, and value of purpose, as well as how best to define, communicate, embed, and sustain it. We will discuss how leaders think about and activate purpose, and in this way support a broader transformation, reimagining, and reform of contemporary business practices. |
Tuesday June 28, 11:00 - 12:00 |

Circular economy: producing more with less |
Valorizing side stream not only is an inevitable and relevant to all players across different value chains but also a great business opportunity with a growing field of innovations. The footprint of our food and agricultural value chains is tremendous, in order to decrease it every part of the raw material needs to be valorized. In this session we will show solutions of our customers how they do circular business in different sectors and through collaboration. After the short impulse opening by the customers, we will have an open discussion on opportunities and challenges. |

Sustainably feeding & rearing animals: which way forward? |
In 2021, the number of chickens alone has been 3x larger than the global human population. This marks just an intermediate step, as the increasing global population and an emerging middleclass are predicted to further drive animal-based food consumption. How can animal farming become more sustainable and efficient, get rid of antibiotics, and reduce land use for feed production? Opportunities and solutions will be discussed in the break-out session. |
Tuesday June 28, 12:45 - 13:45 |
Boost your production sustainably |
Have you ever experienced your plant´s productivity declining at some point of the asset´s lifecycle? Lower productivity might be caused by changes in raw material quality, inadequate condition of certain machines or possibly by lack of operators` experience. Collaboration with technology and service experts helps to understand root causes limiting assets` performance, and jointly developed improvement roadmaps including flexible outcome based commercial models help to mitigate your implementation risks. |
Tuesday June 28, 12:45 - 13:45 |

In a world facing great challenges from climate change, combined with a population expected to exceed 10 billion people by 2050, the need for sustainable food cultivation and sourcing is critical. Agricultural land expansion will need to be halted and possibly diminished to enable land restoration for CO2 capture and protection of biodiversity. Cellular agriculture will be one part of the solution. Are you ready for it? |

Tackling Inequality (WBCSD) |
Rising inequality is a systemic risk and one of the most critical challenges we face. Wide disparities in income, wealth, and overall wellbeing, underpinned by deep, structural differences in the opportunities people have to achieve those outcomes, are leading to hundreds of millions of people being left behind. Social cohesion is breaking down, trust in key institutions is eroding, and civil and political conflict are mounting. This breakout discussion will provide insights on why inequality represents a systemic risk and how companies can start taking action to tackle it. |
